HOW DOES IT WORK?
Over the past year, 4G and 5G Business Grade broadband has increasingly become a viable alternative to receiving fixed home broadband through a phone line or cable.
4G/5G mobile broadband is an internet connection via the wireless mobile phone network.
It does not use the wired landline phone network, so if you don’t use your landline phone then you don’t need to be paying landline phone line rental.
Just like your mobile phone, the 4G mobile broadband router has a sim card inside it which will access data via the mobile phone network. The router will give out WI-FI just like a normal landline based router so your phones, tablets and desktop PCs can connect with it.
It also has an Ethernet port if you have an old computer with no
WI-FI.

WILL IT WORK WHERE I LIVE?
All you need for this to work is a good 3G or 4G signal at your premises. More recently, 5G home broadband has launched in some major urban areas.
It is not essential to have any kind of mobile signal at ground level, so if you can get it from an upstairs window or the roof then that will be fine. If the signal is intermittent or patchy then we have strong antennas that can pick up the 4G/5G signal when you may not be able to get it on your phone. If you don’t have a phone then you will need to get a friend or neighbour to come round and test it for you.
Will I need an Antenna?
To get the maximum performance from a 4G or 5G home broadband connection, it’s sometimes worth investing in an external antenna.
We can asses whether or not you will need an external antenna and provide you with a fitting service including an initial free site visit if you are serious about it.
This can increase the signal strength of your connection, giving faster download speeds and a more reliable connection.
We can provide all the advice you need when choosing an antenna and where to install it.
Our sales team can run through this with you before any order is placed.
PRICES AND DATA TARIFFS
You can now get unlimited home/office/business broadband through a 4G/5G connection from as little as £20/month dependent on network and other factors.
We will offer you various packages all designed to get the best out of the system and these are monthly subscription based tariffs just like your mobile phone.
The upfront cost for equipment and installation may be eligible for a grant from your local government, which will cover the cost.
Please get in touch so we can assist you in applying for this.
Example of how our pricing works:-
Unlimited Monthly Data Allowance
36 Month Contract
£20 per month + vat.
Free Router Included.
Free Site Visit Included.
Installation charge starts from £100 and is dependent on the time on site the engineer will spend fitting the system.
This will be shown in our proposal and costs agreed before any work is carried out.
Our preliminary checks will test each network for coverage and then give our expert advice on which network we recommend using.
Business Eligibility
You are probably eligible for the Local government superfast broadband grant if you cannot get fibre.
Ask us about this and we will help you with the whole process in applying and getting it approved.
If successful, this will cover all upfront costs.
Homes and Businesses in rural areas of the UK may be eligible for funding towards the cost.
Rural premises with broadband speeds of less than 100Mbps can use vouchers worth £1,500 per home and up to £3,500 for each small to medium-sized business (SME) to support the cost of installing new fast and reliable connections.
In order to qualify for a business voucher you will be asked to self-certify that you meet the European Commission definition of an SME whereby your business has:
Up to 249 employees (in total in the organisation) and turnover no greater than €50m per annum, and/or
A balance sheet of no more than €43m
You will also have to self-certify that you have received less than €200k in public grants in the last 3 years – the de minimis limit.
You will be asked to provide evidence of your status as a SME or sole trader.
How fast is 4G?
You’d have to be living in a cave to not know 4G was faster than 3G, but just how much faster is it really?
4G offers maximum real-world download speeds up to around 100Mbps, making it over 20 times faster than 3G.
Theoretical maximum 4G speeds are significantly higher at 300Mbps, although such speeds are only achievable in controlled laboratory environments.
And what about 5G?
5G is far faster still.
To benchmark network speeds, we are interested in download and upload speeds.
Download speeds are the rate at which mobile data is transferred from the internet to your phone or mobile device e.g. downloading a video.
While upload speeds are the rate that mobile data is transferred from your phone or mobile device to the internet e.g. uploading a photo to Facebook.
Generally speaking we see speeds of approx. 70-80Mbps download and 30-40Mbps upload.
This is more often than not, 5-10 times quicker than original landline based broadband.
